Pokemon: Squirtle Evolution Figure

The three stages of evolution for the Generation I Water type starter Pokemon: Squirtle, Wartortle and Blastoise!

• Squirtle is a fictional, light blue, water-type Pokémon that resembles a small turtle. It has a tough, aerodynamic shell that protects it from physical attacks and helps it swim quickly. Squirtle is rare in the wild, but can sometimes be found around freshwater lakes, ponds, and slow-flowing rivers. A few isolated populations can also be found on islands in the ocean, but these are rare. Squirtle are often found in groups, which are officially called “bales” but are more commonly known as “squads”. It evolves into Wartortle at level 16 and into it’s final form, Blastoise, at level 36.

• Wartortle is a small, bipedal, turtle-like, Water-type Pokémon. It evolves from Squirtle at level 16 and into Blastoise at level 36. An older Wartortle may have scars and algae growing on its shell. Poking out of the bottom of the shell is a thick, wavy tail that also has light blue fur and cannot be fully withdrawn into its shell. Its tail fur will darken with age. Its tail is a popular symbol of longevity and good luck, making this Pokémon popular with the elderly.

• Blastoise is a large, tortoise-like Water-type Pokémon. Blastoise has two water cannons on the top of its shell that can be extended or retracted. It uses these cannons to charge at enemies with the force of a rocket, and can also fire pressurized water jets for high-speed tackles. Blastoise evolves from Wartortle, which evolves from Squirtle.
