Pokemon: Charmander Evolution Figure

The three stages of evolution for the Generation I Fire type starter Pokemon: Charmander, Charmeleon and Charizard!

• Charmander is a fire-type, bipedal, reptilian Pokémon. A fire burns at the tip of its slender tail, which makes a sound as it burns. The flame on its tail indicates the strength of its life-force, so if Charmander is healthy, the flame will burn vigorously and won’t go out even if it gets wet. If Charmander is weak, the flame will also burn weakly. Charmander is one of the first three starter Pokémon, along with Bulbasaur and Squirtle, and is the first evolution in its family, progressing into Charmeleon and then eventually Charizard.

• Charmeleon is fast, but its stats are not as good as Wartortle’s or Ivysaur’s. It has a vicious, hotheaded nature and will constantly seek out opponents. Strong opponents excite Charmeleon, causing it to spout bluish-white flames that torch its surroundings. Charmeleon enjoys tormenting its opponents, but it will relax once it has won a battle.It evolves from Charmander at level 16 and into Charizard at level 36.

• Charizard is a large, orange, bipedal, dragon-like Pokémon with wings that can fly. Charmander and Charmeleon, are ground-bound lizard-like creatures, but Charizard’s design is inspired by European dragons. It has a flame inside its body that burns hotter than 3,600 degrees Fahrenheit, and can breathe flames so intense that they can melt boulders. When Charizard becomes angry, the flame at the tip of its tail can flare up in a whitish-blue color. Charizard’s signature fire-type move is Fire Blast, which appears as a huge wall of flames that blasts across a Pokémon battle.
